We had a 30-minute informal catch up with our team. We do this twice a week, and we vary the times to maximise people being able to attend, as we have a lot of part-time staff.

A very hectic and long couple of days! In the morning, we were all pulled into give some advice about improving services during the COVID-19 public health outbreak. It was really valuable work to which our entire team contributed. The results were amazing. But it did disrupt my day’s schedule.

I mostly worked on my project to improve outcomes of people with disability in the workplace. This included acting on some of the recommendations that came from some meetings I attended last week. I also put together a survey for testing some of the message frames that we could use to improve take up of training on disability inclusion.

My team and I are working from home, but today, I was required to go into the office. I conducted a mini visual ethnography of my travels. Even though it’s early days of COVID-19 lockdown, there was a lot of positive observance of the Public Health Order, though signs and physical cues can be improved (‘change architecture’).

I was talking with colleagues today about working from home and how we dress. This came up because they commented I am still dressing like I usually would – very bright and colourful and still accessorising. They thought this was strange and, curiously, needed me to know. It got me thinking about how different people have distinct relationships to their bodies and their ‘presentation of self,’ as we say in sociology.
