Public Health Trial

It’s been a while! I’ve been working long hours the past couple of months. These last few weeks, I’ve been up until 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. and working on the weekends. But it’s all been worth it because our randomised control trial to address COVID-19 behaviours is being launched on Monday!

Juggling Research

I’m currently managing three large research projects, plus our media. I’ve had two big weeks preparing for our public health trial, planning an ethics application, delivering a workshop, finalising results of a project that’s been scaled across the state, and managing our public communications under less than ideal timing.

New Project on COVID-19

Workplace Adjustments During COVID-19

I mostly worked on my project to improve outcomes of people with disability in the workplace. This included acting on some of the recommendations that came from some meetings I attended last week. I also put together a survey for testing some of the message frames that we could use to improve take up of training on disability inclusion.

Visual Ethnography of Lockdown

My team and I are working from home, but today, I was required to go into the office. I conducted a mini visual ethnography of my travels. Even though it’s early days of COVID-19 lockdown, there was a lot of positive observance of the Public Health Order, though signs and physical cues can be improved (‘change architecture’).

Making Research Stick

Today was packed with challenges, met with valiance. Applied research is never easy. Sometimes compelling data and a statistically significant result aren’t enough to drive change. Instead, we may need to create a case to have findings and recommendations actioned.
