It’s been a while! I’ve been working long hours the past couple of months. These last few weeks, I’ve been up until 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. and working on the weekends. But it’s all been worth it because our randomised control trial to address COVID-19 behaviours is being launched on Monday!

I’m currently managing three large research projects, plus our media. I’ve had two big weeks preparing for our public health trial, planning an ethics application, delivering a workshop, finalising results of a project that’s been scaled across the state, and managing our public communications under less than ideal timing.

It’s been awhile. I’ve been on medical leave, just focusing on my health and wellbeing. I’ve been mostly resting. Slowly, at my own pace, I have also been tinkering away at some personal projects. Something I started before I went on leave is a collaboration with a colleage on the sociology of race.

I have been working on my reviews for a research grant committee that I sit on. I spent one day reading all the applications and then updated my notes. For now, it’s about making them presentable for the rest of the panel. Obviously, I like to give useful and constructive feedback to applicants.

A very hectic and long couple of days! In the morning, we were all pulled into give some advice about improving services during the COVID-19 public health outbreak. It was really valuable work to which our entire team contributed. The results were amazing. But it did disrupt my day’s schedule.

My team and I are working from home, but today, I was required to go into the office. I conducted a mini visual ethnography of my travels. Even though it’s early days of COVID-19 lockdown, there was a lot of positive observance of the Public Health Order, though signs and physical cues can be improved (‘change architecture’).
