Young Entrepreneurs Make a Change
This is an interesting, short documentary about a world-wide program to encourage young entrepreneurs. The focus is on software developers producing novel technologies to improve their communities. Young people were given the opportunity to create a new app and bring it to market. The video features a young woman in South Africa who is seeking to make a sex education app to help young people get safe sex advice. Another young software developer has created an app to help minority youth who are abused by police during a “stop and frisk” search. They can record details of their encounter into a database to establish patterns of abuse of the law. Another entrepreneur in India is seeking to help farmers communicate across distances and help one another be more productive.
There are several novel ideas about sustainability and improving communities through collective action. It’s well worth the watch!
