Social scientists are trained to think critically. This doesn’t mean in the colloquial sense. This is about learning a suite of scientific methodologies for framing questions, collecting and analysing evidence and making recommendations.

From getting Government personnel to understand other cultures, to assisting in an environmental inquiry, to reorganising database and information gathering systems, social science provides a useful means of seeing problems from a fresh perspective.
