Went to a great talk today on Islam, which covered the distinction between faith, culture and different interpretations of law and texts.
The speaker then discussed data on the Muslim population in New South Wales. This slide shows that in non-Muslim majority countries, people will overestimate how many Muslims actually live in their country, by up to 24 percentage points. Australians think Muslims make up 12% of our population, when they actually make up 2.4%.
