A British study of 1,000 people finds 60% do not tell lies frequently, but a amongst those who do, 5% of people account for over half of all liars. Yet people who lie frequently are not necessarily any better at detecting lies. The lead researcher says:

“Prolific liars are probably not any better at detecting lies than the rest of us – and most of us aren’t very good.”
