You can never have enough friends, right?

You can never have enough friends, right? Not necessarily, according to the social brain hypothesis! This theory is tested against face to face Western social networks, to find the number of meaningful social connections. It was previously thought that the maximum number of friends one could maintain was 150, but this is likely to change due to social media. (As well as new modes of transportation, and changing ideas about relationships. In other cultures, different social norms will likely apply.)
